#1 - First pressing on 13th Floor has Radioactive logo on labels printed in red, and the band logo is bigger. Many copies come sleeveless, there are two rare sleeve variations, though, hand-made by the band: (a) xerox sleeve with live photo of the band, most on white, some on blue paper. (b) large “radioactive” logo on heavier yellow paper. A fake version of this was reported by breakmyface.com; it has original second press vinyl in a bootlegged #1b sleeve and fake first press labels glued over the second press labels. Easiest way to spot it is the additional “SD” in the runout grooves (which is typical for a second press). #2 - Second 13th Floor 7” pressing with black radioactive logo on labels and nuclear explosion sleeve (design used for all subsequent pressings). #3 - First 12” version on 13th Story. #4 - Reissue on Triple X.
This is the sound that made them famous; great mid-tempo LA punk rock, catchy as hell, and with a great rough guitar sound. 1945 from the Rodney on the ROQ compilation, a good Rolling Stones cover version, and a new improved version of Playpen. Excellent EP. [9]
L.A.-Punk-Rock vom Allerfeinsten, mid-tempo, dafür genialste Gitarren (sowas gab’s nur in Los Angeles…) und sehr eingängige trax: das vom Rodney-Sampler bekannte 1945, eine tolle Coverversion von Under my Thumb und eine neue Version von Playpen. Sehr gut.
