#1 - First press with red sleeve paper and bright red labels (“PLAY LOUD” written in all caps, “Infrared” in one word), 1000 made. #2 - Blue sleeve paper, same record as #1, 1000 made. #3 - Yellow sleeve paper, darker red labels (“Play Loud” not in caps, “Infra Red” in two words), 500 made. #4 - White sleeve paper, darker red labels like #3. Red and blue cover copies mostly come with first label version, white and yellow with the second, but mixups have been reported. See breakmyface.com for details and pictures.

Debut 7” by this innovative Bay Area band. Rougher and simpler than their other releases, still great and original hardcore. You can hear traces of their later sound here and there, and it’s actually not too far away from the Rat in a Maze 12”. A side has two fast hardcore songs, Rush Hour is slower and more on the punk side. [7]  

Erste Platte der später sehr innovativen Band. Hier konzentriert man sich noch etwas auf den etwas einfacheren frühen HC, der aber nie stereotyp oder langweilig ist, sondern originell und ehrlich klingt; man hört auch schon viel vom späteren Sound heraus, v.a. zur Rat In A Maze 12” ist es kein weiter Weg mehr. Die 2 Songs der A-Seite sind schnelle HC-Songs, Rush Hour ist etwas lang­samer und ’punkiger’. Guter Erstling einer tollen Band, für 1981 ohnehin bemerkenswert.
