SS Decontrol - the kids will have their say LP

  • dischord. 7 1/2 / xclaim. 1 / 18 tracks / 1982
  • RI: discord / exclaim. / 1988 (?) (bootleg)
  • RI: ? / 1992 (bootleg)
  •  #1 - 1000 made of the original, + lyric sheet. #2 - 1000 made of the bootleg, also with lyric sheet. The bootleg has all occurances of “Dischord” and “Xclaim” replaced by “Discord” and “Exclaim”, also on the lyric sheet; sound quality is very good. #3 - Second boot circa 1992 with no label logos at all - blacked out on the back cover and removed on the labels. #4 - At least one more (Euro?) bootleg with plain white labels.
  • Their debut, and the first release on Boston’s first straight edge label, XClaim. This is supposed to be a straight edge classic; well, it’s rough and fast hardcore, and Springa’s brutal voice sounds great, too. The music is kind of simple and monotonous, though, and most of the songs sound alike. It is a good record, but their Get It Away 12” is a lot better. [7]
  • Tracks: boiling point / fight them / do you even care / not normal / wasted youth / jock itch / fun to you / v.a. / how much art // the kids will have their say / headed straight / war threat / teach me violence / screw / who’s to judge / police beat / united / the end
