Co-produced by Thom Wilson. Circumstantial Evidence is missing on the original US version. French pressing (with a different title) has all the LP tracks plus three 7” tracks and one unreleased (?) track. US & German pressings have lyric sheet, don’t know if the French version has one, too. Bomp 1994 and Line 1998 “Collector Edition” CD with 8 live bonus tracks recorded in 1980: ’Sonic reducer’, ’It’s Cold Outside’, ’I Stand Accused’, ’Tell Me’, ’Little Girl’, ’Won’t Look’, ’Back’, ’Evil Boy’ and ’I Need Lunch’. Bomp CD (2004) has five bonus tracks: Alternate takes of Evil Boy and Swingin’ A Go-Go, Crime In The Streets (Instrumental), Little Girl (Live) and Junebug Skillet Barbecued Yardbird. No Circumstantial Evidence, though.

First solo album, recorded in Los Angeles after the Dead Boys’ split and just before he founded the Lords of the New Church. Nice melodic rock punk with quite a bit of 60s pop influence (à la labelmates The Last), but also a rougher rock edge (à la early Iggy Pop). Good & interesting songwriting, it’s just that the singing sounds like he’s on drugs sometimes… [7]

Soloplatte des ex-Dead-Boys-Sängers, die dieser noch schnell vor der Gründung der Lords of the New Church in Los Angeles einspielte. Musikalisch recht interessant, sehr melodischer Rock/Punk, manchmal schon fast ZU brav. Hat einen guten Schuß 60s-Pop abbekommen, erinnert manchmal an die Labelgenossen The Last, in härteren Momenten auch an ältere Iggy-Pop-Sachen. Der Gesang ist manchmal etwas nervig, der Gute knödelt ziemlich durch die Gegend, kommt wohl von den vielen Drogen… Trotzdem eine hübsche Platte, die allerdings das Niveau der genialen “Not that way anymore”-Single nicht halten kann.
