Another tribute compilation - Germs covers. Like with most other records of this kind, the bands do a decent job playing the classics with some or no variation, but in the end… they’re not the Germs. I’d rather listen to the originals, and then hear some new music by DI, the Zero Boys, Alloy… [6]

Tribute-Sampler haben auf den Plattenkäufer eine eigenartige Wirkung. Zuerst sind sie ja sehr reizvoll, weil man doch die ganzen tollen Songs schon kennt - und sie irgendwie doch anders sind, neu interpretiert eben. Wenn man sich das Ganze angehört hat, bleibt eine gewisse Leere zurück. Das sind nun mal nicht die Original-Klassiker, sondern nur Bands, die die Klassiker nachspielen. Genauso geht mir das bei dieser Germs-Hommage; die Bands mühen sich redlich, machen ihre Sache z.T. auch sehr gut - aber die Germs waren doch noch mal ganz was anderes.
