Two indie 7”s and then an LP on IRS? That usually means a crappy new wave album, right? Wrong! Most of the songs are fast and quirky, and although I'd have to file this record under Art Punk or New Wave, it's very very enjoyable. There is a slight Devo influence, but they're not just some skinny-tied goofballs; and there are quite a few songs that are still close to punk; most are a weird but working blend of punk, wave, surf, pop, electronics… In any case, it's a damn cool LP. Kommt daher wie eine schrottige New-Wave-LP, ist aber eine wirklich interessante und originelle Platte. Die meisten Songs haben ein wirklich flottes Tempo, und trotz des leichten Devo-Einflusses gleitet die Musik nie in albernen Skinny-Tie-Pop ab. Einige Songs sind fast noch echter Punk, die meisten sind eine Mischung aus Punk, Wave, Surf, Pop, Elektronik und merkwürdigen, unbestimmbaren Einflüssen. Insgesamt eine tolle und spannende Platte.
