bone-air / paradise records. p-haus 4 / 8 tracks / 1984
Tracks 1,2,5,8 produced by Bob Mould, tracks 3,4,6,7 by Butch Vig.
After the first 12“ which was still 50% hardcore, the band is firmly rooted in experimental art punk on their second release. However, there’s a huge difference between the four tracks that were recorded in Dec 1983 by Butch Vig and the other four that were recorded in June 1984 by Bob Mould; while the former are experimental but rocking garage post punk tunes that still have energy and power, the latter are just too edgy and wiry and go nowhere most of the time. The four Butch Vig tracks would’ve made an interesting record. [6]
