Teen Idles - minor disturbance 7"

  • dischord. no.1 / 8 tracks / dec 1980
  • #1 - 1000 made of the 1st pressing with glossy hard cover, picture has more contrast. Test pressings have generic yellow United test press labels, no sleeve. #2 - 1000 made with thinner paper cover, printing is “lighter”. 2nd press has a “2nd pressing” note and a drawn Black Flag symbol on Henry Rollins’ hand on the back cover. + poster (?) and lyric sheet. Rereleased on 4 Old 7”s comp. LP. Feat. Ian MacKaye.
  • If you'd have to pin down the (vinyl) birth of modern hardcore to a single release, this would probably be it. Yes, other bands had played fast music before (Middle Class, Bad Brains), but it was the early Dischord bands (along with the Touch & Go bands) that kickstarted the whole “scene” aspect of hardcore. In this light, the first Dischord release is an essential piece of hardcore history, even though it is not that impressive musically - basic early & simple DC hardcore, but not as good as Minor Threat or other early DC bands. But hey, they were there first. [7]
  • Ian MacKayes erste Band… (DR)
  • Tracks: teen idles / sneakers / get up and go / deadhead // fleeting fury / fiorucci nightmare / getting in my way / too young to rock
