posh boy records. pbs 103 / 12 tracks / 1980

An early and rather obscure Posh Boy compilation; I think this was not reissued because the songs by Red Cross and 391 were reissued on their 12”s anyway (the 391 tracks are slightly different to the 12” versions, the Red Cross tracks are the same versions as on Annette’s got the Hits 12”). The highlight of this record are Spitting Teeth, though, a punk band from Utah. Great melodic punk with a cool, menacing atmosphere. Excellent compilation. [8]

Früher und weithin unbekannter Posh-Boy-Sampler, es wurden wohl auch nicht viele gepreßt, weil die Red-Cross- und 391-Tracks (391 in etwas anderen Versionen) wenig später auf ihren 12”s wiederveröffentlicht wurden. Allerdings gehört die letzte Band, Spittin’ Teeth aus Utah, zu den Highlights des Labels; toller, melodischer Punk Rock, der aber nicht zur Popmusik verkommt, sondern immer einen kühlen, bedrohlichen Touch behält - genial. Ein wirklich guter Punk-Sampler
