Turning Point successfully escaped the “Dag Nasty effect”: this is not the “mature rock LP” that a lot of their peers released back then. Although the production is pretty good and some tracks indeed have a stronger rock influence, most of the songs still are fast & powerful sXe hardcore. Good one. [7]  

Ein beliebtes Muster bei vielen End-80er-SE-Bands war das folgende: Eine schnelle Hardcore-EP, gefolgt von der rockigeren “reiferen” LP: Der sogenannte Dag-Nasty-Effekt. Turning Point erfüllen dieses Stereotyp nur zum Teil; die LP ist zwar deutlich besser und rockiger produziert, einige Songs sind auch langsamer und rockiger, aber viele Tracks haben noch den kraftvollen Hardcore-Sound und sind nach wie vor schnell und krachig. Wie schon bei der EP nicht der ganz große Wurf, aber eine gute Straight-Edge-LP mit viel Power.
