All the noise and all the feedback on this LP can't cover up the fact that these guys are just playing ultra simple blues rock patterns over and over again. It might have sounded menacing and dangerous on their previous 7”s, but a few years and a few noise rock hype cycles later, it becomes obvious that it's just a farce. Not as bland as their subsequent records, but the novelty has worn pretty thin. [6]

Auch die größte Fuzzbox und der jaulendste Feedback kann die Tatsache nicht verbergen, dass Unholy Swill einfach nur stumpfsinnige Einfachst-Bluesrock-Schemata spielen und endlos wiederholen. Ihre frühen 7”s beeindruckten noch durch ihre Kompromisslosigkeit, aber das ist in den Jahren dazwischen zur Farce erstarrt. Noch nicht so schlimm wie die folgenden Platten, trotzdem eher öde.
