CAN: friend records. fr 009 / 14 tracks / nov 1980

Second Vancouver compilation, the punk factor is a lot lower here than on Vancouver Complication. The two rough and melodic Subhumans songs are definitely the highlight here, other bands are No Exit (simple, somewhat amateurish hard­core), Si Monkey (synth noise, funny), Metros (mellow punk/rock), Droogs (wave punk with keyboards, OK), ganz guter Wave-Punk B-Sides (ska, but not bad), MEC (wave/punk with a synth, annoying) and Singing Cowboys (good wave rock). Overall, an interesting compilation, not too attractive for KBD purists, though. [7]

Bunt gemixter Sampler vom Friend-Label (das ja auch DOA für einige Zeit beherbergte), von den Tracks sind etwa ein Drittel punkig. Gewinner sind natürlich die legendären Subhumans, auf jeden Fall die beste und routinierteste Band der Platte. Beide Tracks sind melodischer, kraftvoller und rauher früh-HC/Punk-Rock. Ansonsten mit dabei: No Exit (polternder, einfacher Hard­core), Si Monkey (ganz lustiges Synthigepiepse), Metros (sehr softer Punk/Rock), Droogs (ganz guter Wave-Punk mit Key­boards), B-Sides (ordentlicher Ska), MEC (Wave/Punk Rock mit Nervsynthi), Singing Cowboys (guter Waverock). Insgesamt eine interessante und gute Platte, für Nur-Punx sind allerdings nur 3 oder 4 Tracks interessant.
