Everybody’s been waiting for this: A Misfits tribute album. Like, wow. Well, what’s the damage? Most bands are afraid to change too much of the original material and just kind of bow low (Pennywise, Tanner, Therapy?, 108, Bouncing Souls, Deadguy…). Then there are the bands that try to play the Misfits songs like their own, but do we really want an industrial version of London Dungeon by Prong? An emo version of 20 Eyes by Shades Apart? All Hell Breaks Loose sounding like Sick of it All? And (god forbid) NoFX’ ska punk version of Last Caress? Farside deliver the only cool version on this album, a cocktail jazz version of Return of the Fly, complete with cheesy organ. The rest is obsolete. [6]

Darauf haben wir alle gewartet: Ein Misfits-Tribute-Album. Wie bei Veranstaltungen dieser Art üblich, haben die meisten Bands soviel Ehrfurcht, dass sie möglichst wenig verändern; einige schaffen es immerhin, die Songs in ihrem eigenen Stil nachzuspielen, aber wollen wir wirklich eine Skapunk-Version von Last Caress hören, oder eine Emoversion von 20 Eyes? Farside machen das einzig Sinnvolle und retten sich in die Farce: Lustige Schmalzversion von Return of the Fly, komplett mit Billigheimer-Orgel. Den Rest kann man eigentlich vergessen.
