Another tribute compilation, this time with some Dead Kennedys tunes. This isn’t a generic “let’s play some tunes everybody knows” compilation, though, a lot of the bands are showing originality or even genius when covering those old songs; and some of the versions are (gasp!) almost better than the original. Great compilation. [8]  

Der obligatorische “Tribute To…”-Sampler, diesmal sind die Dead Kennedys dran. Obwohl ich inzwischen diese Teile nicht mehr ertragen kann, muss ich sagen, daß dieser Sampler durchaus seine Daseinsberechtigung hat, und zwar deshalb, weil nicht ehrfürchtig nachgespielt wird, sondern weil die Songs zum Teil schon mal ganz schön auseinandergenommen werden. In einigen Fällen müssen die DKs sogar schon aufpassen, daß sie nicht von ihrer Coverversion überholt werden. Sehr schöner Sampler, vor allem für die Leute wie mich, die Anfang der 80er jede Note der Kennedys auswendig konnten.
