+ flyer. A flyer for the third strike LP says that there was a repress of 10000 copies due to a mistake in the pressing plant, but as this record doesn’t show up that frequently that might be just another White Flag joke.

The first and best WF album; a lot wilder & weirder than the other LPs. Great cynical hardcore/punk rock satire, rough and melodic music. Everything about this record is special (and kind of user-unfriendly); from the song titles you have to puzzle together to the special inner grooves at the end of each side that you have to maneuver to manually (and those have two different songs playing on the two stereo channels). It's all a big joke, a hardcore cabaret, but the music is smart, diverse and melodic. A classic. [9]  

Die erste LP von White Flag, die mir auch mit Abstand am besten gefällt, weil sie noch erheblich wilder und kaputter ist als die folgenden. Zynismus und Persiflage werden hier auf die Spitze getrieben, das Ganze erinnert eher an eine Art Hardcore-Punk-Rock-Satire-Cabaret-Show. Vor allem wird auch der Hörer ständig veräppelt, das reicht von den Songtiteln, die man erst mühsam entschlüsseln muss, bis zu den ’Inner Grooves’, zwei speziell geschnittenen Extra-Tracks ganz innen auf der Platte, die man von Hand anfahren muss. Die Musik ist noch erheblich abwechslungsreicher und eingängiger als die manchmal etwas routiniert wirkenden späteren LPs, Einflüsse von frühen LA-Bands wie den Germs sind auch recht deutlich.
