Wipers - better off dead 7"

  • trap records. 810×44 / 3 tracks / 1978
  • First pressing has a colored sleeve (yellow/red/black) with lyrics on the inside, 2nd is orange and black, 3rd has the circled Wipers logo like on the more recent LPs. Before founding the Wipers, Greg Sage played guitar in an early 70s US blues rock band called Beauregarde who also released an LP (Beauregarde was a pro wrestler in the Northwest). (thanks to Layne Browning for this info).
  • The debut 7” by Portland's Wipers already has their typical sound; maybe a bit rougher around the edges, but with the legendary hypnotic guitar sound and Greg Sage's trademark vocals. A side is an all-time classic, B side songs are a bit weaker, but still great. (AV) [8]
  • Der Titelsong ist Wipers pur, hypnotische Gitarre und ein Song, der im Kopf hängenbleibt. Die Songs der B-Seite sind etwas schwächer, überzeugen aber auch. Immer noch soo gut… (AV)
  • Tracks: better off dead // up in flames / does it hurt
