An odd band in the Bomp label catalog which usually focuses on 60's pop and 70's punk; well, maybe they needed money. Label and band were trying hard to create a tough NYHC image, but Wolfpack actually were from Albany, not New York City. The music is pretty simple hardcore in the NYHC vein (what else…); it's not that bad, and there is some power, too, but the playing is a bit sloppy and amateurish, and when they try to play faster things get a bit chaotic. This was clearly an attempt to cash in on the hype around the bigger NY bands like Agnostic Front, CroMags etc., and although Wolfpack don't fail completely, they're far away from those bands' intensity and aggression. Ungewöhnliche Klänge vom Bomp-Label, das sonst eher auf Klänge der 60er und 70er abonniert ist. Hier versuchen Band und Label nach Kräften, eine harte NY-Straßengang zu verkaufen, dabei kam die Band aus Albany… Einfacher und etwas dilettantischer Hardcore im NYHC-Stil (was sonst), der speziell in den schnelleren Passagen etwas chaotisch wirkt; hin und wieder kommt aber auch etwas Power durch, und der Sänger ist auch nicht schlecht. Kein kompletter Fehlschlag also, aber meilenweit von Vorbildern wie Agnostic Front oder Cro-Mags entfernt.
