First Mystic compilation; true to the label's “philosophy” there are none of the big names of LA hardcore here, but lots of obscure bands instead. Most of the bands play rather noisy and generic early hardcore, but there are some good songs by Crewd (rough and fast, with a good screaming singer), Nuclear Baby Food (cool LA punk in the Rik L Rik style) and Secret Hate (hardcore with some weirder/unusual elements). Alter Mystic-Sampler mit viel “normalem” West-Coast-HC; schnelle, krachige und etwas einfache Musik. Herausragend sind Crewd (ungewöhnlich hart und schnell, guter Schreisänger), Nuclear Baby Food (unterkühlter LA-Punk, erinnert an Rik L Rik), Secret Hate (HC mit einigen interessanten/schrägen Passagen).
