Van de Graaff 1901 - 1967

Robert Jamison Van de Graaff (notice the spelling!) was an American physicist born on Dec. 20, 1901, professor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1934-60). He invented the so-called Van de Graaff Generator (or Accelerator) at the age of 18. Chief engineer at High Voltage Engineering Corp. which he established to build and develop the generator. He died on Jan. 16, 1967.
