In 1983, Hammill ventured out on his first tour for four years, backed by the K Group (VdGG's old rhythm section Guy Evans and Nic Potter and ex-Vibrators / Peter Gabriel guitarist John Ellis). The Margin - Live is 70 minutes of jagged edges, stark moods and tempo changes through a course of hairpin bends and Hammill's stentorian, plunging voice and piano, starting with the portentous overtones of The Future Now and Porton Down and ending with the 20-minute seven-part opus Flight.
